Coming from a third generation cattle and guest ranch background, Jesse grew up around horses. He began showing reining horses at age 12 and after graduation headed to Loomis Ranch in Merrieta, Oklahoma. Jesse apprenticed under one of reining industry’s top professional's, Duane Latimer. Jesse then headed to California to work for Craig Schmersal, one of NRHA’s million dollar riders. For two years Jesse coached non pros, as well as trained and showed many great reining horses.

Jesse has been home now for several years and has established his own business, Beckley Reining Horses. Beckley Reining is nestled in the Rocky Mountains just outside Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada and is just one and a half hours from the US border. The facilities include an indoor riding arena, 22 stall heated show barn, numerous outdoor runs and pens, two round pens, and a 200x400 outdoor arena with exceptional sliding ground. Jesse specializes in futurity horses and has a top notch non pro program.

In addition to raising some of the best performance bloodlines in the world, Jesse has proven himself in the show pen, capturing several Canadian and International Championship titles. In 2005 Jesse and Hotroddin Catalyst captured the Limited Open Affiliate Championship in Oklahoma City. Jesse has also been a two time NRHA Limited Open top ten Futurity Finalist at the NRHA Futurity in Oklahoma City. Recently, Jesse won the Open Futurity at the Manntana Classic in Kalispel, Montana, and was fourth in the Intermediate Open at the High Roller Classic in Las Vegas. Jesse has been featured in several magazines including, The Western Horseman, Quarter Horse News, and The Western Horse Review.
